Last April, notes for the Dover Quartet’s Carnegie Hall concert said that the group has a “reputation for collaborations that highlight the unique artistry of both the ensemble and today’s leading soloists.” The quartet brings that reputation to our 71st season, collaborating with internationally renowned violist Roberto Díaz.

Violinist Joel Link has been a top prize winner of numerous competitions including the Johansen International Competition in Washington, D.C. and the Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition in England, for which he was featured in The Strad magazine. Mr. Link has appeared on numerous radio shows, including NPR’s From the Top. Violinist Bryan Lee has performed as a soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra, among others. He was awarded the bronze medal at the 2005 Stulberg International String Competition and won second prize at the 2004 Kingsville Young Performers Competition.

Violist Julianne Lee joined the Dover Quartet in 2023. She has toured nationally and internationally with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Marlboro Music Festival, and the Australian Chamber Orchestra, where she held the title of guest principal violist. She is also accomplished on the violin and was principal second violin with the Boston Pops Orchestra. Cellist Camden Shaw has collaborated in chamber music with such renowned artists as Daniel Hope, Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg, and the late Leon Fleischer, and maintains an active career as a soloist.

The Grammy-nominated Dover Quartet is in residence at the Curtis Institute of Music, where Díaz is president and CEO. BBC Music Magazine hailed the Dover as “one of the greatest quartets of the last 100 years.” Díaz’s career has included the position of principal violist with the Philadelphia Orchestra and with the National Symphony.

Their program includes:

  • Mozart: Quartet in D major, K. 575          
  • Dvořák: Quartet in F major, Op. 96 (“American”)
  • Mendelssohn: String Quintet in B-flat major, Op. 87 (with Roberto Díaz)
