Bill has been a board member since 1994 and serves as its vice president. One of his favorite tasks was helping FOM commission a new work that was performed during its 50th anniversary season, 2003-2004.
A 45-year resident of Croton-on-Hudson, Bill has two daughters: Meryl, a college professor in Indiana, and Janet, a marketing professional who lives in Florida. In his previous life, Bill was in the advertising business, running an agency that specialized in the fine and performing arts with such clients as the Metropolitan and Guggenheim Museums, The Morgan Library, The Museum of Modern Art, The New York City Ballet, The 92nd St Y, Columbia Artists Management, and Carnegie Hall.
MUSICAL MOMENTS: Like many kids, Bill was subjected to the usual “music appreciation” classes in elementary school. Fortunately, that didn’t ruin him for life: He later discovered a passion for classical music by sharing an office with someone who always played it on his radio.
